Create Music provides music and arts education and performance opportunities for all children and young people across the city.
The Music Leader Internship is designed to help someone who would like to work in music education or with young people through music, by offering a fixed-term opportunity to gain experience and skills in a paid role. We will give you on- the-job training in different aspects of music delivery and provide you with support towards your next move. No formal qualifications or experience are required, but an enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills is essential.
The Music Leader Intern will assist in the smooth running and delivery of a number of local programmes as well as supporting the day-to-day administration for the regional Music Education Hub. They will work in the Brighton & Hove area.
The Music Leader Intern will be supported to
learn and develop new skills and experience in:
- Music session delivery
- Managing and supporting projects
- Working with young people
- Collaborating with partners
- Communicating with a range of audiences, including via phone, email, blogs and social media
they will also have opportunities to:
- Develop evidence of work skills and experience
- Sample different aspects of supporting music projects, such as marketing and music technology
- Tailor aspects of the role and duties towards their individual skillset, experience and or interests
