2-day workshop at Performing Arts Centre, Lewes
For beginner young musicians to form a band and play live.
Designed for young musicians in year 5 and above learning at beginner to grade 2 level, this course offers young musicians an opportunity to come together to create a band and work towards a short performance of their work. Any instrument is welcome, no band experience is necessary.
Students will receive expert coaching from Create Music’s tutors that have professional experience of performing and recording in the studio.
Day 1
Students form into bands, will jam together and get to know each. They will then go into a practice room with their band and with the help and support of the tutors, will write and compose their own songs.
Day 2
Students will continue to work on and practice their song working towards a performance in the concert for parents and carers at 2.45pm.

Course Leader
Drum Kit & Percussion
Coming from a musical family, Grant studied jazz at college while playing on the local punk, rock, and folk scene in Northern Ireland. He obtained his BMus in orchestral percussion at University of Ulster. Grant relocated to the South of England in 2000 and started touring throughout Europe and the US. He is Create Music Curriculum Lead for Drums, Percussion and Keyboard.
