Join Primary Music Teachers from across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex to develop teaching and learning in and through music across the primary curriculum.
Each session will include a practical workshop led by Dr Ally Daubney, aiming to develop primary teachers’ confidence and understanding to plan, teach and assess music successfully in their own classroom and across the primary school.
The second half of the session focuses specifically on the development of composing and improvising across the primary music curriculum, an area of music recently identified by Ofsted as a weakness in many schools’ provision. The session will explore ways to develop creative exploration underpinned by progressive musical learning.
Teachers attending the workshop will be given a copy of the Little Book of Knowledge for Primary Music by Dr Ally Daubney, which supports understanding the underpinnings of musical knowledge that is the basis of all published work schemes that schools may follow.
Refreshments will be provided.
Music co-ordinators are invited to attend with one other colleague from their school who delivers music education, who may not be a music specialist.
Spaces are limited, so please register below to confirm your attendance.
