Using iPads and computers, you will learn how to program beats, layer instruments to create harmony and end up with a complete song, whether it be dance music, pop or rock - all producers started somewhere and you could be the next superstar producer!
Students will learn the basics of an online recording studio (DAW). This begins with programming drum beats in different genres (Hip-hop/Dance/Rock etc.) Each week students will learn a new skill such as writing in a bass-line, chords/harmony/catchy melodies and how to mix and polish the song. By the end of the 6 sessions, students will have created their very own track ready to release! As the sessions continue, students will experience the characteristics of different styles of music, more advanced techniques such as sampling and branch off into different areas of electronic music creation - including music for TV/Film/Video game.
