Vicky Freeman
Clarinet & Flute Teacher
Vicky has over 20 years of teaching experience and has performed around the world. Having gained a performing diploma with the London College of Music before she left school, Vicky then went on to study the Clarinet and Saxophone at the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. She graduated with a performing diploma and a BMus Honours degree and later also gained her PGCE.
Duncan Purvey
Clarinet Teacher
Duncan is a clarinet and saxophone specialist with over 30 years of experience teaching children. He studied with clarinettist David Campbell at the London College of Music and received a PGCE from Middlesex University. Duncan joined East Sussex Music full-time in 1992 and has taught and conducted many ensembles for East Sussex which includes projects with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He was lead conductor for Eastbourne Youth Concert Band for a number of years and woodwind coach for South Downs Youth Orchestra. Duncan’s students have been accepted into top colleges such as the Royal College Of Music, Royal Northern College Of Music, Royal Academy Of Music and Trinity Laban College.
Will Roberts
Will Roberts was a scholar at the Royal College of music where he studied with Byron Fulcher and Lindsay Shilling. During his time at the College, he performed as Principal Trombone of both the RCM Symphony and Philharmonic orchestra, as well as the RCM Jazz Orchestra. His previous highlights include performing the Horovitz Euphonium Concerto with the Brighton Youth Orchestra, the Grondahl Trombone Concerto with the Junior Trinity Symphony orchestra, and the Larsson Trombone Concertino with the European Youth Music Week Chamber Orchestra. Since leaving university Will has worked with ensembles such as the Cat's Cradle Collective and continues to explore jazz trombone with his Trio the "Wayward Heaths' and the Lewes Big Band.
