Create Music is pleased to welcome Isabelle Adams as Create Music Singing Strategy Manager.
Singing is a core element of the National Plan for Music Education and remains at the heart of Create Music’s plan for music provision and skill development. Over the next year, Isabelle will work with Create Music to continue to grow and develop singing, in and out of schools, through the implementation of the Create Music Singing Strategy, in partnership with Glyndebourne.
Isabelle brings a wealth of experience to the role as a choral leader, vocal teacher and singer. She has worked with people of all ages in different community settings and musical venues and has previously worked with Create Music as the artistic director for One Voice 2023. She is a passionate advocate for the many positive benefits of singing, especially for supporting well-being, and wants to ensure that all of our children and young people have opportunity to sing together.
She has conducted massed children’s voices at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms, at Wigmore Hall and for Spitalfields Music in newly commissioned collaborative works for community singers and professional musicians. She has led vocal projects for the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Dartington International Summer School and The Sixteen.
Peter Chivers, Director of Create Music said: ‘We are very pleased to have Isabelle on board as our Singing Strategy Manager. She brings with her an enormous amount of specialist knowledge and we look forward to seeing her reignite singing both in and out of schools and across the Create Music partnership. This is especially pertinent as singing was so badly affected during the COVID-19 pandemic’.
Isabelle is looking forward to working with colleagues in schools over the coming months and would love to hear from you if you have any ideas for how we can support you to develop singing in your school. Teachers in schools can contact Isabelle at [javascript protected email address]
