Singing Strategy

Learn how we collaborate with our partners to bring singing opportunities to children and young people across the area.

Create Music works closely with our lead partner for singing, Glyndebourne, to develop opportunities and support progression pathways for young singers. Together and through collaboration with partners, we lead the strategic development of singing for the Music Education Hub.

Together we created a Vocal Framework, which identified three common themes: Well-being, Personal Development and Professional Development as our priority areas for development. These themes also relate directly to Glyndebourne's work, meeting their mission to reach out and enrich as many people’s lives as possible through opera – whether as creators, performers or producers of this art form.

Over the past two years we have also worked closely with schools to understand and support safe singing, particularly in response to the Covid19 pandemic. During the autumn term 2021 we offered a series of virtual training sessions for vocal leaders and will be hosted our annual singing event, the Big Sing as a completely digital event in December 2021. We will continue to work in an innovate and blended way to support children and schools to engage in singing.
