Join Primary Music Teachers from across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex to develop teaching and learning in and through music across the primary curriculum.

Progress in Primary Music

Toolkit Session No 1

Join us for this practical session as we consider what progress across primary music looks like and sounds like.  This session aims to help you to:

  • plan, teach and assess more musically
  • enhance your understanding of how to develop your curriculum plans so that progress is central
  • articulate and demonstrate pupils' musical progress to key audiences, including as part of Ofsted’s Deep Dives.

Musical learning activities that you can use and adapt with your own pupils will be centrally embedded. Through the session, you will have opportunities to consider your school's wider musical offer alongside the taught curriculum in order to reflect on how to develop a rich and creative music offer across the wider school.

Led by Dr Ally Daubney

Chaired and supported by Mel Scott (Music Curriculum Lead Teacher, Create Music)
