Classroom Instrumental Lessons (CIL), linked to the National Plan for Music Education, provides Primary aged children with the opportunity to experience the excitement of learning to play an instrument alongside their classmates.
A variety of programmes are available, tailored to meet the needs of individual schools. Each programme is ideally delivered by a specialist working alongside the class teacher or music co-ordinator. In addition to learning specific instrumental skills, all children will develop a wide range of other musical skills including playing as part of an ensemble, singing, performing, with some links to improvising and composing.
