An inclusive, creative music group for children & young people with special educations needs/disabilities and their parents/carers and siblings.
Pier One is a a creative & fun musical group for 12-20 year olds with any level of experience, any ability and any musical background - or none at all. We write all our own music collaboratively so that it reflects the tastes and personalities of all the group members. Members can bring along their own instruments if they would like, and Pier One is also able to provide a wide range of instruments to use in sessions.
We usually have 5 sessions in the course of a term, writing & rehearsing our music, and finishing with an informal performance. Ensemble members don’t have to come to all the sessions, but it’s often most fun to do so if you can.
Parents/carers are welcome to drop their children off, or to stay and join in as well – we are always very pleased to welcome family groups.
Pier One is led by a team of five friendly and experienced Create Music tutors who are expert at supporting people to find their own musical voice within the group
Pier One is kindly supported by the Roy Hudson Trust.
