How We Work With Schools

Hear more about how we work collaboratively with schools to deliver objectives set out in the National Plan for Music Education.

Create Music works collaboratively with schools to deliver objectives set out in the National Plan for Music Education, published by the Department for Education.

We work closely with colleagues in schools to promote participation, ensure access and raise standards in music. As lead partner of the Music Education Hub for Brighton & Hove and East Sussex, we are committed to working with schools to deliver the core roles set out in the National Plan for Music Education.

Create Music offers a comprehensive range of music learning experiences to every school and college in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.

Activities offered include:

  • Whole Class Ensemble Tuition (practical music-making/instrumental learning programmes for children pre-school, KS1 and KS2)
  • Small group and individual instrumental and vocal lessons for pupils from KS1 – KS5
  • Creative well-being programmes
  • Partnership projects with schools, the wider community and Create Music partners
  • Workshops, short courses and enrichment activities to support schools with activities such as Arts week, transition projects or summer schools
  • Music Education Network – an active forum for music education professionals offering a safe platform for dialogue, practice-sharing, resource-exchange and training
  • Programme of CPD/curriculum support for teachers
  • Extra-curricular music activities in schools, delivered by Create Music specialist instrumental/vocal teachers
