Course Fees

Course fees begin at £33 for 1-day courses and for 2022, any students already learning with Create Music, either in lessons or at one of our music centres, will receive a 10% discount that will automatically be applied when you sign up.

Invoicing and Payment

Invoicing

Once we have enough students signed up for each course, we will issue your invoice which must be paid in full before the first day of the course.  Failure to pay may result in your child not being able to attend the selected course. Please note that further information will be sent approximately two weeks before the course begins.

Refunds

Even if your child does not attend every day of a two or three day course, the full fee is due as that place has been reserved.

If you cancel your course at least 14 days before the first day of the course, a refund of 50% will be given. Refunds for late cancellations due to exceptional circumstances may be considered but will be discretionary.

Additional Costs

Coaches

Supervised coach travel to courses at Andrew’s Prep, Eastbourne (11 -15 July) is available on a first-come first-served basis. The coach information is sent out with the course information approximately two weeks prior to the beginning of each course.

The coach fee is charged for the whole course (not per day) and parents/carers will still need to collect their child at the end of the final day of the course.

Performances

Every course includes a performance at the end of the course and for the majority of performances there is no additional charge for tickets. 

However, audience members attending the evening concerts listed below, which take place in the main auditorium, will need to purchase a ticket in advance or on the night from the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts box office.

 

Courses 08 and 11: String Workshop and Wind Band Workshop

Bursaries

If you are already in receipt of a bursary of any level with Create Music, you will be  automatically be awarded a 25% bursary on course and coach fees and there is no need to reapply - just check the tick box stating you are already in receipt of a bursary when signing up.

Bursaries are also available for Children and Young People who do not learn with Create Music. To be eligible the student needs to be attending a Brighton & Hove or East Sussex state school, in full-time primary, secondary or further education (usually Year 13 or below) and from  a family whose household income is under £20,000 before tax and receive one of the following:

  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit
  • Income Support
  • Income based Employment Support Allowance
  • Income based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Pension Credit
     

How to Apply for a bursary

Please add the Young Musician’s Bursary Application to your basket when applying for your course(s).

Applications will only be accepted if accompanied by evidence of income/ benefits/ supporting statements. This can include scans or photographs of letters and statements from HMRC/DWP detailing the benefit award.

TAX CREDITS 

If you wish to apply for a bursary and are in receipt of Tax Credits, you need to attach the following pages from your  2021-22 Tax Credit Award to your application:

  • The front cover
  • The page which gives details of your household earned income
  • Part 2 which shows how your Working Tax Credit is calculated if you receive it.

 

UNIVERSAL CREDIT

If you are receiving Universal Credit, please submit all pages of your 3 most recent monthly statements and we will be able to let you know if you are eligible to receive a subsidy.

We are unable to refund retrospectively if you do not apply for a bursary at the time you apply for the course.  Please remember to enclose your documents as we will need them in order to process your application.
