The campus car parks can get very busy, particularly on weekdays between 9am and 5pm. We would recommend using another form of transport or if you do need to drive, please allow more time for your journey.

General parking is not allowed immediately outside the Attenborough Centre, nor on Gardner Centre Road.

There is limited car parking available at the Sports Centre Car Park (P5), Sussex House Car Park (P4) and Biology Road Car Park (P3), all of which are within a couple of minutes’ walk from the Attenborough Centre.

The routes from the car parks to the Attenborough Centre are accessible for wheelchair users.

Please see the campus map for the location of car parks on campus.

Vehicles (including taxis) are welcome to drop off outside the venue.

There is a barrier at the end of the road, so the driver will need to press the intercom button to talk to the University’s Security team, who will then raise the barrier. The barrier opens automatically on the way back out.

There is one blue badge parking bay on Gardner Centre Road opposite the venue, and there are two disabled bays for blue badge holders in the Sports Centre Car Park - these are available on a first-come, first-served basis (as they are often shared with Sports Centre users).

Parking in the disabled spaces is always free.

Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm – £2.50 for three hours is the charge for campus car parks. Please note that Pay by Phone is now enabled in Car Park 4 (Sussex House) and Car Park 5 (Sports Centre). This means you can pay parking charges by calling 01273 785599, online at or via the mobile app. For further information, please visit the University of Sussex Parking for Visitors page.

Parking after 5pm on weekdays is free.
