Create Music is running a free 5-week vocal project for students in KS2, years 4 and above.
Rehearsals run every Saturday 11:15am-12:15pm at Eastbourne Music Centre (Ratton School), starting 14 Sep with the final rehearsal on 5 Oct.
The project is led by Create Music’s Issy Adams and Brighton Early Music Festival, which leads to a performance in 'The Forgotten Scarlatti' on 12 October, accompanied by the Armónico Consort.
'The Forgotten Scarlatti' features newly discovered music by Francesco Scarlatti, alongside Vivaldi's iconic Gloria.
Overshadowed by his elder brother, Alessandro, and nephew Domenico, Francesco Scarlatti was largely forgotten until now. The discovery of this extraordinary Dixit Dominus and Messa a 16 is rapidly changing all of that!
The concert will also include Vivaldi’s ever-popular Gloria, where the large-scale forces of voices and instruments will be joined for some sections by young voices from Eastbourne Music Centre and from Brighton schools.
